1996
Worked with Bangladesh’s leading Bengali-Rock vocalist Mac(Maqsood –al-Haq) from the most famous band in Dhaka called Feedback on the country’s 25th independence anniversary and the album went on to become a mega hit(song called “Bangladesh”).
1997
The year India celebrated its 50th year of independence but!!!!! there was GAUTAM with his songs “fifty-fifty” and “ley sunn ley” from his human rights private album called “OPEN YOUR EYES” labeled as anti establishment was banned and the songs were taken off the air within 15 days of its release. BBC WORLDWIDE soon interviewed him and realized the deeper feelings of this one - man - protest against fabricated achievements of the establishment that completely turned a blind eye to reality!!!! And the songs became the curtain raiser for the special program dedicated to all anti-establishment artistes from the developing world.
By 2001
He was awarded an honorary Human Rights Ambassador by the British Council and followed by ACTION AID INDIA as their brand Ambassador, he is the first Indian musician to be thus honored. This was one huge historic step.
Under the British Council’s program on Human Rights, he toured UK and Europe with his songs and participated in most prestigious Edinburgh Festival 2001 and Notting Hill fest 2001 also participated in Bastille Day fest 2001 in Paris.
Performed and co-created the Rights Music Fest in India in 2001 with the collaboration of the British Council, this too became the first of its kind music Fest the country with two concerts in a span of six months which was attended by more than 20,000 people and also featured the famous Human Rights band from UK called Maroon Town.
2002
Prasar Bharti (the largest television network governing body in the world) recognized his immense contribution, vision and expertise and appointed him as a member of The National Jury for National Music, Song and Dance. Incidentally he was the youngest member ever to be part of this elite group which comprised of legends and stalwarts of Indian culture. He retained this position till 2004.
2004
The Canadian Connection ………..
Performed with mr.muthadi, famous canadian percussionist, who was in new delhi on a fund raising mission in from canada.
In 2005
He performed with his band GAUTAM GHOSH COLLECTIVE(GGC) along with the legendary Blues musician from the late great MUDDY WATERS band lead by Mr. John Primer as representation of contemporary India and the finest musician of Delhi, in the 2 concerts as part of the Sister City project between Delhi And Chicago initiated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt Shiela Dixit and the Mayor of the city of Chicago . He is also the Technical Consultant of this entire project.
2006-07
GGC has been performing regularly at various high end venues in Delhi, Goa, Rajasthan during this period. Watch out for the upcoming albums of the band recorded alive and also check play list.
